The duck meat was boiled and definitely not fresh! The most detesting foie gras I've ever had. "The produces are from the farmer's market lie" are all lies. To sum is all up, the food was terrible. Talk about slimmy people. If you want to try it, it will cost you $170 min[$30-40 per plate] before tips for 2-3 people. Save the money and buy something always wanted. If there is a place you think you would give another try, this is not the place. You can smell there restroom from the front entrance of there "sister restaurant" - which is really just one room, not a restaurant. What a terrible thought to go there for a special occasion.
over priced, extremely salty: My hubby and I just came back from a beautiful stay in Santa Barbara, we walked into Bouchon at around 8:00 on a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was about 50% full, the ambiance very romantic; we requested the 03 Tantara Pinot, then sampled the foie gras, roasted tri-color salad, followed by the snapper and venison, the Tantara was big and fruit-forward as expected, the foie gras was seared medium, but the main courses were extremely salty. Living in the culinary capital of San Francisco bay area, we have high standards when it comes to fine dining, while service and ambiance were excellent at Bouchon, the cuisine leave ample room for improvement.
