I'm not sure how this place gets such amazing reviews! The idea is cute, the location and atmosphere is splendid but the food is simply ok. If they knocked off about $5 off each item I'd say the food was outstanding but for the money I have to pay I expect a little more. The service was good!
The food may be good, but I will never know. Dinner service ended at 7:45 the night I tried to eat at this provincial little hole. The rude young waitress seemed almost pleased to inform me that the kitchen was "actually" closed when I had the temerity to try to ask for dinner. Perhaps this place would be better off just advertising itself as a breakfast and lunch spot if dinner really doesn't get a full service.
I rarely get to Santa Barbara, but this place is definitely off my list of places to try. The again, maybe the fried chicken salad is really worth the nonsense.
Interesting collection of breakfast food (for example BBQ corn hash with sausage)...all high quality. Good service too.
