River View Restaurant & Lounge

This restaurant has a beautiful view and a very "homey" feel to it. It was cozy and the staff were very polite. We actually went during lunch time. The food arrived quickly and was quite delicious. We talked with the staff and a lot of the locals there, I really enjoyed it. I took my 6 year old sister with us and she loved the view and the fresh air. They made us feel right at home. After reading the reviews about the night life, we will have to make a trip back sometime.

It's the VIEW that makes this place great. You can sit outside overlooking the river and listen to the water. The food is good if you know what to order. I like their clam chowder on a cold night. They have music every Monday night and often other nights too. I have been there when they had a reggae group and also a local bank on another night. There's pool and the people there are from all over. The people range from really poor on welfare to people who have worked all over the world to people who are spelunkers to people who are famous (I could name movie star names, but just ask the locals; they will tell you) I have a nice time every time I go and I just drink cranberry juice. People are really nice.

Go somewhere else: Food was not so good - salad was not fresh, and food was over-cooked. Service could be friendlier. If you find somewhere else to eat in this small town, go for it.
