Giovanni's Italian Eatery

I heard of Giovanni's Italian Eatery years ago through many people. This past Sunday I decided to take my entire family to Shafter. There were about twelve of us. As we entered the little restaurant a friendly waitress greeted us. We sat and was served with fresh homemade bread loaves. I dipped the loaves with their olive oil and it was superb. I can taste the aroma of the Italian herbs. I didn't want to spoil my meal so I ordered garlic chicken calzone (deluxe) and my family ordered Pad Thai, Ribeye Steak with shrimp scampi, grilled salmon, lasagnas, spaghetti with meatballs, and other dishes which I sampled from my families. The steak is so tender and tasty I wish I wasn't so full. I love all the food in this tiny restaurant. I ordered a dessert pizza which the waitress recommends I have peach with cream cheese pizza. Even though I ate so much I just have to have a bite of this beautiful decorated dessert. What a delicious choice!
I told the friendly waitress that I would see her next week and she said she would be looking forward to see us. Wow!

I never knew Shafter has a great Italian restaurant. Giovanni's Pizzaria is cute with great Italian food and friendly service. Their carrot cake is so moist and delicious. I also had peach pizza pie (which was recommended by the chef). The subtle taste of the rich cream cheese is so flavorful. My daughters both had lasagnas. My husband had the Chicago style pizza and the taste was magnificient. I never had anything so out of the ordinary. I tried the same pizza at BJ's and it does not come close to Giovanni's.

Have you ever had a calzone? If you do or don't, try the calzones at Giovanni's. Whatever calzones you choose you won't go wrong. My all time favorite is the garlic chicken calzone. The best pizza since 1963. I tried the combination pizza and I am hooked until now. The owner also gave me a sample of Thai peanut sauce pizza, and that was awesome. My wife's favorite is BBQ chicken pizza. This little Italian restauarant has many to choose from. I live neat Bakersfield College and my wife and I like to dine at Giovanni's once a week. The next we go to Giovanni's, we will try our very favorite:Lasagna.
