Fantastic prices and great service. I was a first time visitor at the store and felt like a long-time friend. Huge selection too, a quilters dream..
WENT TO F&M FOR MATERIAL NEEDED FOR A COSTUME FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER. GOT HOME LAID OUT MATERIAL AND A QUARTER YARD WAS UNUSEABLE AS THEY RIP THE MATERIAL, NOT CUTTING IT. THIS PARTICULAR MATERIAL WAS VERY STRETCHY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, HAD TO MAKE ANOTHER TRIP TO THE STORE(OTHER SIDE OF TOWN) AND HAD TO BUY ANOTHER YARD (REQUESTED IT BE CUT, NOT RIPPED FROM THE ROLL) BECAUSE I HAD CUT OUT 2 PIECES OF THE PATTERN-SO NO REFUND/EXCHANGE.
Huge fabric warehouse - the best selection of fabrics, trims and notions for the price. Might take you a while to find exactly what you're looking for if you have a particular color/style in mind because the rolls are stacked on gigantic warehouse-type shelves and not sorted by color or style (although generally sorted by fabric type), but I always find several lengths of fabric I love AND save a TON of money! High quality cotton or blends for clothing or quilting are usually only $2 or $3 a yard (and are typically 54-60" wide); some specialty fabrics are a bit more, but still less than 1/4 what you'd expect to pay elsewhere. They have dress goods, flannel, 'pleather' velvets, felt, sari fabrics, upholstery.... just about any type of fabric you would ever need... Another small drawback is there is no fiber content listed on the bolts as they are on huge rolls, but the staff is very helpful and I have never had any issues with washability.
I love their by-the-yard rick-racks, laces and trims (often 3 yards for $1 for basic - towards $1 or $1.50 per yard for fancy). Also have tons of buttons, zippers, etc. for ridiculously low prices. Not many sewing patterns, tho - just a few basic ones on a revolving rack.
Worth checking out!
