In the past this restaurant has been one of our favorites so i decided to take my wife, 2 year old duaghter and my grandma there. We were celebrating my grandmas 82'nd b-day. After trying our hardest to eat the food everyone felt like vomiting and going home to eat a tv dinner. I will start with the paper wraped chicken that was burnt to the paper and impossible to get off. There was even two of them that were not cooked all the way through. If you order mongolian beef be prepared to recieve a marinated tire with some green onions. If you order orange chicken make sure you send it back and have them cook it again because it wont be done. If you order garlic chicken make sure you say no water in the sauce, becase im pretty sure they take the last of the suace, put it in a bottle, fill it up with water and then shake it and pour it over the chicken. If you want drinks and napkins bring them from home. If you do not know what you want to order before you get there make sure you bring a flashlight because it is so dark you cant see the menu. If you have a youngster and they enjoy sweet and sour sauce with their chinese food just ask for ketchup and lemonade then mix it together because that would taste 100% better. If you want to a nice quiet meal with your own space get your order to go and eat it in your car because that will probably be more enjoyable. Do your self a favor and put your money for a dinning out experience into a gift card to panda express (you will prabably see my grandma there for her 83'rd).
My husband I are visiting Bakersfield on a business trip and each night we get to choose a place to eat tonight was my turn and I chose Bill Lee's. The atmosphere was nice, quiet with subdued lighting and we sat in a comfortable booth. Before we got our water we were served a pot of hot tea which was lovely and so very good. Next came our drinks which were also extremely good. We ordered an appetizer tray, the House Specialty and the Lobster Que. Everything was just delicious. This was the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. We had so much left over we are going to dine in fine style for lunch tomorrow. I went in tired after a long day and came out as a fat happy buddah. The prices were very reasonable which made my husband a happier buddah - lol. I've got to get that recipe for the Lobster Que from them - it is beyond good.
I have eat their for 43 years.Always the best quality food and service.Thank you guys and gals.
