"Resort" ya right! If you can't find another place to stay just stay home!!! It's more like a dirt parking lot full of mobile homes. Sites advertised as full hookups yet they ran a 100 ft green hose for water and 20 ft of ABS pipe on top of the ground for sewer. Electrical panel had no cover. Thats right, go to flip a breaker and all the wires were exposed!!! Told the staff at the office and they suggested we fix it. Raw sewage & vomit on our site. Little parking. Dirty restrooms. Scared to even go in the pool. Tent campers seemed to be happy? We spent most of our time at beautiful Avila Beach.
I made a reservation for 4 days with this "resort" right before memorial day. For those of you who are not aware Pismo State Beach is nearby and this is one of their busiest weekends. I should have known right away when every other campground was full that there would be a problem. The guy that took my reservation was nice and professional and I explained to him that I had a 28' travel trailer. He continued to take my reservation and all was good.
My family packed up and drove 5 hours to get to our destination. When I arrived I was taken back by the size and up keep of the property. It was trashy to say the least. There was a strong smell of sulfur which we expected. Driving a large trailer I was trying to find the way into the property and decided just to park on the street. I contacted the front desk who confirmed my reservation. They pointed me to my space and I walked back to find a beat up 70's trailer in my spot with what appeared to be everything he owned strewn about the site. I also noticed there was no way my trailer would fit in the spot anyway. I walked back into the office and explained to them what I had found.
This is where things got worse. They had no idea the trailer was in my space and made a comment that he was supposed to be gone 3 days earlier. She directed me to another space 2 down from where this other guy was. I explained to her that there was a large tent put up in that space which they had no idea about.
Finally I asked if there was any other places close by. They did provide me with numbers and I called each of them but found everything was booked. There was a state park which was first come first serve and they recommended we try there. I told the lady please figure out what is going on and call me when you figure something out. THEY NEVER CALLED ME!
So here is my recommendation. Under no circumstances camp at this "resort". It's filthy dirty and no one has a clue whats going on there. #2 There are several very nice campgrounds in the area of Pismo which are well kept and if you are going stay away from Memorial day, 4th of July etc. unless you make plans well in advance. I ended up finding a place to stay several hours away.
