This review is for their new store in SLO.
The food was good, people were very nice, but the service was SLOW! I think we waited 45 - 60 min. on some take out (no exaggeration!). When we got it home, in addition to the fried rice we ordered, they filled 1/2 of each individual container with plain white rice (giving you 1/2 of the actual food you ordered) - making each dish barely enough for 1 person. I was a little pissed, and very disappointed, but I LOVE curry - so we had to try again. The second time I thought I would outsmart them and say NO RICE, AND run an errand while we waited for the food. Still ended up waiting 30 - 45 min. AFTER the errand, and they didn't give me rice, but they only filled each container 1/2 full (or 1/2 empty).
I saw a lot of people eating in, and waiting just as long. They are in the old Jimmy Bumps pasta, did not change the decor; the atmosphere is more like a take out place, to me. If you live in Beautiful SLO, who wants to sit in a stuffy crowded room? Change the seating, and I could just as easily drop off my dry cleaning. Give me a patio, or a comfy-nicely decorated- dinning facility.
The moral of the story: Good food, nice people. Expect to wait at least an hour, and expect to get barely enough food for 1 person (for the same price you get with a normal portion at any other thai place in town).
Absolutely great Thai food for a good price. Nicest people who operate the restaurant. I would definitely recommend the Thai boat to anyone, one of my favorite places to eat in all of morro bay.
This charming take-out Thai Food stop is a gem. Located near Morro Rock. I would drive from anywhere in the county to pick up some of their Garlic Chicken or Red Curry Shrimp. The food is outstanding! It is locally owned by a very nice family who really know how to make Thai Food and keep their customers coming back for more. Prices are reasonable. Most dishes under $10. They let you call ahead to have your made-to-order lunch or dinner deliciously hot and ready. They have a few small tables inside their boat shaped restaurant, as well as outside. But it gets crowded quick. I recommend taking your food to go and drive over to the nearby Morro Rock and watching the waves crash as you enjoy this excellent food.
