This place is always crowded and usually has a sizable line out the door. And that's not even when the Asian tour buses from Hearst Castle stop for dinner. As far as the food goes, it's just okay. A bit pricey for what you get and the quality is just so-so. I honestly don't see the appeal.
go for the buffet: The buffet is huge and includes salad, fruit, sushi, and the usual Chinese menu dishes. Being a vegetarian, I concentrated on the vegetable Chinese dishes. There were a couple of those in addition to the salad.

Yuck: I really wanted to like Dragon Palace, I love Chinese food and was ecstatic to find a Chinese Buffet where I could sample little bits of everything, instead of receiving one large portion of a single item. Unfortunately I found Dragon Palace to be overpriced and of poor quality. The 'chicken' dishes were certianly not made of chicken breast, thigh or leg meat, I can't imagine which parts of the 'chicken' they came from. The chicken meat was gummy and difficult to chew. The "salad bar" featured noticably wilted lettuce and ranch dressing that was due to go bad any moment, as evidenced by the curdling. When my husband and I arrived, almost all of the containers were empty of food, after being there for 20 minutes most still had not been refilled. The only part of the experience we enjoyed was the Diet Coke and the soft serve icecream - but $30 was too much to spend on a soda and dessert. I will not be returning. Ever.
