My Aunt and Uncle owned a motel 2 blocks away when I was a boy. My family would come to visit for a couple of weeks and I could not wait to get there so we could go to Pismo Fish and Chips.
At that time they had the grill along the entire north wall and counter seating. I loved to sit there and watch them cook my food for me.They had the best food in all of Pismo Beach. After the remodel the quality of the food and service started to decline.
I do not know if there has also been a change in ownership or not, however the last two times I ate there I was so disappointed. The salads were warm and no where near crisp, the fish was very greasy, I was not even able to finish it, and then we all felt queasy after eating it. (The fish did not make us so don't misunderstand) I just felt yukky and sorry I ate there.
Just saddens me to know I can no longer eat there. I have so many years of good memories from Pismo Fish and Chips.
I hope that someday they will look back upon what they were doing right and do it again. I would love to go back again.

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAt first glance, the decor seems a little old. The place was full but we were seated quickly. The staff was friendly and thorough. I am not a fish lover but thought I would try the fish and chips after reading the previous reviews. I was not disappointed, WOW. The batter was great and the fish was perfect. Even my 5 year old loved it. My wife had the clam Chowder and said it was better than any she had in San Francisco. The tartar sauce was awesome. Thank you, I will eat there many more times in the future.
