Be very careful of the bid package you may receive from McLean Roofing. They do not include information on the square footage / roofing squares measurements. They also do not break out material vs. labor costs. They will not provide the information, even when asked. Their reason for not disclosing the measurements was "We do not want you to go out and buy the material on your own". Who said anything about buying the material on my own?Bad business Mr. McLean. A smart homeowner cannot accurately compare roofing bids without BOTH the total material and labor costs and measurements to know which contractor is offering the best deal on the same roofing product.
I have seen all of this and have taken it into consideration. I do have one question though--who are the four generations? Ryan and Jim are two generations, where did the other two come from?
I know the people at McLean Roofing to be very concerned about the quality of their work. Their company worked on my roof and I'm completely satisfied with every aspect of the job.
The posts that berate this company appear to be the same person, and has little to do with the performance of the company, seems personal to me.

We are very sorry, Karen, that you were disappointed in our free estimate to re-roof your home. After spending the time and gas to drive to New Cuyama, as well as the time spent in preparing the bid package, we were very surprised that you would write a negative review. Our bid reflects the total for labor and materials. It is our standard practice. We do not itemize the cost of each item but we do outline exactly what our service includes, that way you can compare "apples to apples" with your other bids. Our bid package also includes proof of insurance, references, and information about the roofing product we are recommending. When a customer requests detailed measurements, that is a red flag that the customer is merely using our free service for the benefit of another party. Now that's bad business! If this is your reaction to a free estimate, we are grateful that you have chosen another roofing company to install your new roof. We wish them the best!
