    Stopped by there on the way to Southern California. Took some bread down there, everyone said its the best!!! We are a German family and very picky about our breads and such, and this is the only bread that compares to German bread! On the way back we had to fill orders from our friends in Reno, Nv...I am going to try the mail orders, hoping it will be as fresh and yummy as the fresh pick up at the store. Very busy store, take your time stopping by! The bread is incredibly inexpensive and only has fresh ingredients

    I will start by saying I really love this place. It is one of the main reasons that I plan stops in Bishop while on the way to LA. The sandwiches are the best anywhere and the bread is very good - and it is an experience. I'm not a critic of fine pastries, but I think they are good.

    It is very busy so don't expect five star service and if you are looking for a fine French bakery, you should look elsewhere - this is a family run small town bisness. It is worth stopping if you are passing through.

    Be aware that the service can be less than inviting; recently went (Sat. 10.11.08) to buy a roast turkey sandwich; asked for wheat bread, got white; when I attempted to correct the order, the woman began to argue w/me, at which point I returned the food and left; good food, but they might consider writing orders down instead of relying on memory; they might also want to consider training the women servers to be friendlier and less argumentative; I work in the food service industry and know what my boss expects of me w/regard to customer service.
