User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsOka's food is poor at best. Since the change in ownership, the food has taken a turn for the worse. If you like good Japanese food avoid Oka's. If you don't mind plastic food, make a reservation.

Every time we go to Yosemite and stay in Oakhurst we eat here, and while our favorite Chinese restaurant in town changed names and went downhill, this one continues to be very good with a good variety of menu items. Everything is good from the sushi to the interesting traditional hot Japanese dishes. I recommend ordering one of their hot dishes which are different and unique from you would find in most Japanese restaurants. The owners of this restaurant started Oka in Fresno and moved up here and sold their Fresno restaurant, which kept the same name. After trying this place the first few times, we decided to try the Fresno Oka which has a different menu and is very small restaurant in comparison but is also very good and maybe even better than this one. If you are going to be in Oakhurst eat here, and if you are going to be in Fresno try the Oka there.

A nice surprise...: We went to OKA's on the way home from Yosemite. We ordered the "Let's Do It' roll and it was awesome! We ordered a beef bowl for the kids and the meat was very tender and moist. The tempura was fried crispy and not oily.
All of the fish seemed very fresh and the food had a great flavor. We enjoyed our lunch very much- with no leftovers! Our waitress was very sweet and asked us many times if we were happy with the food. Service was very quick. Thanks OKA for a great expierence!
