Stay away. The owner of this restaurant is the rudest person I have ever met. She does not know how lucky she is to be living in paradise. She is one sad person who does not deserve my business.
We stopped here on the way back from Sierra Summit with a group of about 6 of us. 2 of our people got there early and ordered outside. However when the rest of us got there we decided to eat inside. The waitress inside said that our "2 friends that ordered outside could not sit inside with us". I was a little confused by this. It was pretty much the worst service i have ever recieved in my life. Never the less, since the 4 of us on the inside had not paid for our food we told them to keep it and left.
I have not stopped to eat here again in the last 4 years. Now that i own a cabin at Shave Lake, i try to make sure everyone else knows not to stop here. Hopefully they will close soon and somthing with some good service will spring up.

Do not eat here! We went to Shaver for a snow day trip and stopped at The Hungry Hut. The food was average, but we were charged $52.00 for burgers and fries for four people. At that price, they did not honor any substitutions and refused to allow a drink refill.
On top of that, the service was beyond rude! We ordered at the window before discovering the small dining area inside. When we went in to sit where it was warm, the waitress came over and told us we would have to eat outside in the snow filled patio area since we had ordered at the window. So, for $52.00 we got to eat a burger and fries outside in the freezing cold! We will never return again.
