The person below me should definitely give it another shot. Everytime I've been to LBP in the past few months, I've had great service and food! I haven't found any fish and chips in Monterey as good as the ones in the UK until I tried them at London Bridge Pub. You get a hefty piece of battered cod, chips, and coleslaw for $11! You can even sit outside next to a fire pit with a group of friends and enjoy the amazing Monterey ocean-side view! Do NOT go to Bulldog pub- worst fish and chips ever. Crown and Anchor has really rude bartenders.
This place had been closed for a while and just recently opened. I was enthusiastic to go there again but was disappointed 30 minutes later. The food was "ok", not the same as it used to be plus they have smaller portions. The service was lousy and our waitress never came back to offer us anything else. I've been to many pubs here in the area, and this place doesn't reflect pub hospitality that pubs are known for. You're better off going to the Crown and Anchor or the Bulldog. At least you'd get your money's worth for the price of the food and complete service. The decor is awesome and they've got a nice fire pit outside. It is a promising place in general, needs to work on its staff.
This pub was closed from Dec '07 to July 16th for renovation. The new decor is almost as quaint as the old, but the food seems to be on par with before. The number of TVs has tripled, and the staff seems enthusiatic to please. Worth another visit soon.
