Alright.. Like you I'm sitting here thinking that the owner's of Baan Restaurant probably had some friends write reviews for their restaurant. Regardless, based on those reviews we decided to try it out. Low and behold the food was awesome.
Details:
I ordered the Spicy Catfish plate with a spice rating (when asked) of 4 out of 5. As a male hispanic hot sauce-loving person, this was just the RIGHT amount and the plate was delicious. My wife ordered the Cashew chicken plate which my wife thought was fantastic, though I favorerd mine better on account of the curry sauce. We were stuffed, yet we ordered the sweet rice & mango plate for desert which successfully completed the meal.
Like one of the reviews mentioned before, the dining room itself isn't a spectacular setting, however, it isn't a rat-hole either. The dining room is basically plain (humble) yet clean. The restrooms were clean. So basically if you are looking to dine in a super Thai-themed atmosphere with all of the trimmings, this isn't it. But if you are in it for the food / service / price you need to go here. It's a hidden gem (literally).
Very good food--always fresh and hot! The staff always goes the extra mile to get me the sauces I want on the side. Interior is not great, not bad, just not much to it at all. It is plain and a bit sparse, not the place for a romantic dinnerâbut is great for a family outing.
I order pick up from them about once a month and the food is always very good. If you like authentic, fresh Thai foodâ¦this is a great choice.
The best West Coast Thai Food: This is the best Thai food I've had on the west coast. Yes, I have been to Thailand, twice. This place is tops.
