Decent: I live less than 5 minutes away so Serra Bowl is my alley of choice. They treat me well since I'm a regular. They have decent specials during the day sometimes including $2 games. Call in prior to your visit to see what their rates are like.
Not worth the rate: For $30 per hour, you would at least expect some service. Not here. Less than adequate staff made the experience bad. There were no servers anywhere, nor was there a foodservice call button. The scoring machines were a bit antiquated, but acceptable once the system was learned.
The lanes were well kept, but house balls were not available over 14 lbs (not good if you are bringing rookies). I went there without being able to bring my own ball and shoes. Two of us spent $37 for bowling on Sunday night. Maybe it would have been better if we had four people and could split the lane fee 4 ways.
Overall experience left us thinking that we just wasted $37 on going to the wrong bowling alley.
