| About: | A highlight of the charming little town called Half Moon Bay is this four-mile stretch of beach that kisses the Pacific Ocean. The trail runs along the beach and is accessible by pedestrians and bikes. Parallel to that trail is a designated horse trail, but note that horses are not allowed on the beach itself. Swim at your own risk. Even in the summer the water is very cold and the currents are dangerously strong. Camping is permitted by reservation only. After a day at the beach enjoy dinner in the Half Moon Bay area, it is full of great seafood restaurants. |

One could say it's a typical norcal beach front view. Well, these days it's becoming harder to find such spot. This is a very quiet spot that gives you a great view of the pacific ocean.
We love this place. The people are very friendly, the ocean view is amazing, nice bike trails, clean facilities, short walk to town, great weather...all around our favorite place to stay. Traveling to Half Moon Bay is always great; however, October is the best. The weather is fabulous and the Pumpkin Festival is a blast. The only draw back is getting reservation. With only 50 camping sites, you have to plan ahead.
Great State Beach: This is a great beach for a nice walk on the beach, and for watching the sunset:) It can be windy or foggy at times, and when the weather is nice, it is beautiful! Parking is $6.
