I've eaten here before and just didn't find it too special, but it's close to home and I thought I'd give it another chance...I like supporting the local businesses. Went with a foursome last night and was unbelievably disappointed. Fried calamari as an appetizer was good, but only one of the four meals was OK. My seabass was terrible...completely smothered in a strong picatta sauce and looked like something you'd buy at Trader Joes. My wife's salmon was overcooked and just horrible, and son's gnocci was so bad we had to send it back and just get him a bowl of penne with a random sauce on it.
As a family, we hardly ever complain about our meals and almost never send anything back so this was very rare. We all agreed this was one of the worst meals we've ever had. And I've never posted a review with only one star but there's a first for everything. I was hoping someone would come by at the end of the meal and ask how everything was but just got a bill handed to us and that's that. With four glasses of wine and tip it was a little over $185...ouch...never again.
Still good and a return to excellence: I was a loyal costumer when they were in RWC. I thought that my favorite resteraunt had gone forever. It has returned in Palo Alto, with better parking! I enjoy that the service, enviroment and atmospere, and courses are just as good as I remember from before!
Good sushi: Good value, great taste and excellent portion sizes. Make sure you befriend Mike the owner in order to receive his "special" dishes...
