| About: | The decor is classy and understated with superb touches of Asian art. The food is equally classy with seafood and poultry as the house specials. This is short sums up Fook Yuen. Nanjing duck seems to be the favorite among diners from the area and among tourists. It is prepared with distinctive spices, a crispy skin served in pancakes and roasted to a buttery succulent juiciness. The roast chicken is also excellent. The seafood dishes include a savory catfish casserole and a variety of tempting crab entrees and appetizers. The service is impeccable. |

here's nothing worse then lousy service. food is average but their service is horrendous! how many times does one need to ask for a fork (not for myself, but for my hungry crying toddler who doesn't yet use chopsticks), a glass of water? or some hot sauce? we didn't even go during rush hour! and if you're a parent and need a high chair, be warned, the seats are super sticky and gross so bring plenty of baby wipes. don't let me get started about their men's room...can i say pine sol!
lastly, they got our bill mixed up with someone else... this i can understand but don't chase us down and ask us why we didn't pay out in the parking lot. we did and it was your fault, not ours so don't be rude about it!
overall, just a bad experience.
4.90 stars; for what it is, you can't ask much more than this. You wouldn't expect world class haute cuisine in Millbrae anyway, right? Great, friendly service- If you want, say, bitter melon pork, just tell one of the hostesses to send the right lady over, and she will . Plus, they have patience for clueless Americans and Japanese who are ordering. My wife and I go there often and bring out-of-towners there for a "dim-sum experience" that is better than most of the tourist traps in SF. I like it! There might be better tasting places but they are so rowdy and rude it's not worth it. Fook Yuen is on my faves list.
The dim sum is so so but very fast service. If you see alot ppl waiting outside for a table in the morning, STOP don't try to wait, it takes forever.
