Really tasty sushi - best I have found in Mountain View. Tempura wasn't the best but the sushi rolls more than make up for that
My Favorite Sushi Bar in the US: I have many found memories of this sushi bar and have been a loyal patron for over 3 years. The staff is very friendly and treat you like family. The food is delicious and fairly priced. Always ask the chef what he recommends for the day. Definately try the temptation roll which uses fried potato strings and unagi.
Mmmmm Monkfish Liver: I know I've said this before, but... I love sushi. Dangerous in a sushi resteraunt. I can eat sushi until I pop... Unfortunately, the bill always follows.
When I'm up at Moffett for my weekend warrior duty, we often go to the same places after work. One of our staple sushi resteraunts is Yakko.
Yakko, is just off the main drag off of Castro Street, and about a block from the Tied House.
It's a small resteraunt with about 8 chairs at the bar. The chefs are fast, attentive, and serve some great fish.
Tonight we went from poki salad, to fried uni... Yes, fried uni... That was pretty interesting... Uni, wrapped in a leave of some sort, then tempura battered and deep fried.
Highlights for the evening included some great fresh uni, some nice and fatty toro, and pressed monkfish liver...
The ama ebi is some of the best. The tails succulent, and the heads perfectly fried.
This is not a fancy place, but, what they serve is fresh and delicious. Give it a try!
