I have bought 2 Giant OCRs and 1 hybrid from the Santa Clara store. This past week I bought a Giant XTC mountain bike from the MV store. I told them that the cleats don't fit the pedals. The counter guy told me they do. Guess what. They don't.
Called up Rec the manager. He was totally indifferent to my situation. Now I gotta go get new cleats. Real waste of my time.
Cosmo at the Santa Clara store is equally apathetic. I've bought 3 bicycles from them. I don't know what the deal is with these people. Bicyclists pay a hefty premium on bicycle products. Off Ramp should start riding and relying on bicycles more to truly understand the bicyclists situation.
I've been bringing my old bike there for repair for over 10 years. Their customer service has always been great. & with my old bike, they tell me about the cheaper alternatives. I've bought a lot of gear there & when I had trouble with a pannier, they suggested they return it for me under the warrenty & they gave me a new, better one. It's very conveniently located for me & they're open on Sundays. I think it's a great place & I highly recommend it.
My experience with repair staff has been excellent. I bought a bike from them a year ago and had been having problems with spokes breaking on my rear wheel. I replaced the wheel with them and it was guaranteed. Two months later I broke another spoke on this wheel and brought it in expecting them to fix it but they said if I was having trouble with it they would respoke the whole wheel with heavy duty spokes at no charge. I was very impressed by this service. I don't know how many shops would go that far. Great Service. Thanks Off Ramp!
