User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsO.K. people get real here....Original Joes is an amazing place for the ATMOSPHERE......Not like any chain restaurant....It feels REAL....So the food isn't the best, at least it's also not over priced, and the service is totally old school... they had decent caesar salad, and chicken picatta....the bar has the best ambience hands down..Authentic.....They also served until pretty late, and I am very sad to see it go... I really hope that the owners decide now that they have finally gotten the insurance money to bring it back to life, although I hear that the family is divided about what to do...I sincerely hope that it gets restored and stay where it is...We should get the word out before it's too late....

Best place I have had a steak in San Francisco was at Ruth's Chris Steak House.
O Joe's is closed due to the recent fire. Seriously doubt they were the best place in SF for a steak. -

Original Joe's is no where near the best place to get a steak. Who comes up with this stuff???? I'm origianlly from the midwest so maybe I'm a little jaded, but to be honest, I haven't had a great steak since moving to Cali, and I know steak. I LOVE a good steak. The only place in the bay area to get a good steak and great service is Morton's, hands down!! Ruth's Chris is good but the service was awful when I was there. Try a Morton's coffee too, very yummy.

If Ruth's Chris is the best steak in town, then S.F. has gone down hill. Ruths is a B+ chain steak house. No personality, good (not great) steaks, and so far overpriced it is beyond belief. Their trade is the business traveler on expense account who knows that they can get a good meal at all of their locations around the country.

Seriously doubt you are the best place to go for a review...Joe's is one of the best places to go to take in some home style food and experience great character. No room for your Ruthism.
