| About: | The singing servers in this Opera Plaza eatery have made Max's a San Francisco legend. The food has inspired several smaller Max's (the Diner, Max's Eatz, Sweet Max's) to spring up all over the Bay Area. Besides opera, what can one expect at Max's? Chopped chicken liver and onions, hamburgers and fries, or pastrami on rye. Just about any calorie-packed deli-style temptation imaginable is on the menu. If you don't feel like a hamburger, order a dessert. They are all huge (including macaroons that seem to weigh half a pound) and delicious. |

Max's Opera Cafe.: The place is excellent and One will leave stuffed. Their Pies and Cakes are huge.
Would love to go back: Although I had to wait a hour and half to be seated, it was worth it. I enjoyed the music even though the waitress really couldn't sing and I really enjoyed the cheesecake (Yes, only went for the sweets). It was very cozy atmosphere and next time I'm in California I'll go back. Things I didn't like were the long wait, the long wait to pay to leave but overall it was very nice.
Max's Opera Cafe: They serve huge portions, although sometimes they're a little stingy with the bread, but with the price, its an incredible steal.
