This is by far the worse place I've eaten at. My mom cooks authentic Vietnamese food so I am very critical when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. But that doesn't mean I'm not open to try things. For this place, I chose the simplest dish on the menu because it is the best way to know if the restaurant is any good or not. I ordered the cube filet mignon and it was the saltiest thing I ever tasted. If you can't get a simple beef dish right, what else can be wrong. I think when chefs start mixing flavors together, in this case, French/Vietnamese, they should make sure it compliments one another. The only good thing that came out of my dinner was the mango dessert. This place is not pricey, they're overpriced for the quality of the food being served. The only compliment I have to give is the decor, especially the outdoor patio. If you are looking for great-tasting authentic Vietnamese food, try Hai Fong in San Bruno, you will love it.

good food & chic ambiance; the prices are a bit high, but the experience is well worth the price; the restaurant's hidden in an alley... but that highlight's your san francisco restaurant saavyness.

Went with my wife and Mother and all our dishes were delicious. The dishes were well cooked and spices and flavors perfectly melded together. The atmosphere of the resturant gave you the feeling of not being in San Francisco anymore. Be warned that Le Colonial is pricy, but a great place if you want a night out.
