If you're looking 4 romance and love Paris, this is definitely your placeâ¦. (a tip to all you lovebirds- sit outside)
nice ambiance, fast service, delicious food.
Built on reputation and no solid follow-up to keep it. Sadly, this restaurant has been so spoiled for the Loehmann's shoppers that they've forgotten what made them great.
The food has since turned to mediocre, and the passerbys gawking at you has become a huge nuisance. Oh not that I have anything against sidewalk cafes or eateries, they're tons of fun, but this one just isn't cutting it for me.
So perfect I want to keep the secret...: Healthy, classy, tasty, moderate-budget lunch in a comfortable place quiet enough to carry on a conversation, and where the service is excellent (and fast!)... sounds like the business lunch fantasy? No, it's true. I think their off-the-beaten-track side alley location is the secret weapon that keeps them free of Union Square tourists. I love Cafe Claude for business lunches so much that I really hesitate to review it... I don't want it to get so busy I can't get in! I'm there at least once a week for lunch and it is consistently good. The Salade Nicoise and Quiche Lorraine are both favorites; their sandwiches are hearty enough for folks with large appetites. I also got rave reviews when I brought a group of friends there for Sunday night dinner.
