The Bottom of the Hill in San Francisc on 1233 17th at the bottom of the hill. I have covered many bands there as a freelance writer. All my stories are e-mailed to SPIN. Im dfoley09 currently. See my stories in SPIN. The Bottom of the Hill has so many great bands playing there. You will see people singing , dancing, laughing, jumping and some moshing too. They have a full bar and a small food place too. Get your tickets onlne as many shows will be sold on fridays and saturdays. If your lucky and you get there early you might be able to buy a ticket at the door. b bye ps see you there !!!!!!!!!!

This is the best club to see live music in SF. They usually pick quality bands; the price is always right; it's not so big that you feel far away from the artists or anyone else; the music is not so loud (in between acts) that you can't talk to your neighbor; parking is a cinch even if a show is sold out; and the atmosphere is so welcoming that it's not hard to start conversations with strangers.

I can only think of two minor complaints I have with the place: The bathroom stall doors often don't work (Though that's way better than the Elbo Room, whose idea of a bathroom is a long hallway with a toilet at the end), and they took out the pool table and pinball machine in favor of more seating.

Friendly Place: Very friendly place with often great rock music. Even warmer when it's packed.
