About:Billed as "San Francisco's Premier Dive Venue", the Parkside lives up to its claim by recreating the classic American dive bar in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. For years, the club has come to be known as the Bay Area's premier venue for rockabilly, 60's soul, country, and surf rock, as well as contemporary sounds such as indie-rock and garage-rock. It regularly hosts a wide range of special events such as the daily "Raw Power Happy Hour" and "It's a Free Country Sunday" where you can go and see the Bay Area's finest country and bluegrass bands for free. To emphasize its Tex-Mex feel Thee Parkside's kitchen serves up dishes such as the Carnitas Platter, or the standard burgers and fries, all while siting at one of its outdoor patio's notorious pick nick tables. If you're tired of rock clubs that replace comfort with tribute bands, head down to Thee Parkside for a bottle of Pabst and some country twang.

    Great place to hang out, but not the best value: I love hanging out at Parkside. Nice outdoors area, ping pong, etc. The problem is they try to charge $5 cover to get in even when there is no kind of entertainment. They've also been known to close up early when business is slow, effectively rushing their patrons into finishing their drinks and food.

    The atmosphere is nice, but the service and lack of value keeps it from being truly great.

    The Parkside is just one of those joints that...: you can't help but LOVE. There's a ping-pong table in the back for good games of beer-pong. They serve comfort food. It's just one of those places where the folks are cool, the staff could be more on-the-ball, but they're cool and way laidback, and it's the kind of establishment that is just established. You keep going back because you keep having a good time. Even if you go alone; you can meet up with some cool folks at the Parkside, as there are many the are there in BIG GROUPS. So go... be cool... make friends.
