Great food in a basement hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Gave them an abalone I took up in Fort Ross and we also ordered clams, dungeness crab, baby bok choi, tofu, and green beans. The abalone came stir-fried with vegetables and was fantastic. Everything was very good except the crab was on the small side.
I asked a chinese woman for help finding a good Chinese Restaurant as she walked out of one, she told me not go go in the one she came out of and instead "Find a restaurant that is not clean, they will have the best food. If it is too clean, food will not be good". I followed her advice and walked into Kam Lok. We were impressed by the less than spottless appearance and I felt that we may be in a good place to eat.
The price was excellent and the food was even better. The family style eating we opted for was excellent for us to sample the different dishes which were all very good. I would suggest the Mu Shu Pork. If that is how you spell it, anyway.
I hope this was helpful.
