This was so incredible and classy that I had to write a review. Costly but worth it. The tasting menu lets you try a variety-- and everything was great!
Something bothered me on my last meal there. We were seated and immediately asked if we wanted champagne to start the meal before we received the menus. My wife asked to see the list and the server said, "Oh, no problem, I can just recite them from memory." So he listed the different ones (of course, not mentioning the prices) and my wife chose the last one on the list. Later we get the menus and see that she just chose a $28 glass of champagne! (Needless to say, we would not have chosen that if we knew it was going to be that expensive.) I felt tricked and I thought it was not cool at all and he should have just brought over the menus so we could see it for ourself. They don't need to pull that crap here... Anyway, Gary Danko has great food and great service, it is very expensive, and other than this small problem, I have always enjoyed eating there.
WE HAD DINNER AT GARY DANKO W/ A GROUP OF 6. WE STARTED W/ A COUPLE OF COCKTAILS AT THE BAR AND WERE
SEATED AT A COMFORTABLE BOOTH. WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT
AN ADVENTURE WE WERE ABOUT TO GO ON.
THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!!(ALTHOUGH WE EXPECTED THAT),
THE PORTIONS WERE ENOUGH FOR US TO GET A TASTE OF EVERYTHING ( WE ALL HAD 4 COURSES )
WHAT WILL BRING US BACK IS THE SERVICE. OUR WAITSTAFF WAS PHENOMENAL!!! GARY DANKO IS THE BEST RESTAURANT WE'VE EVERY BEEN TO!!! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!
