A fabulous park. It so far outshines old "Candlestink" that there's simply no comparison. (Although as a committed Giants fan I saw many games there as a kid, starting with the days of Mays, & adult, I don't know what the dopey management was thinking when they built that monstrosity out on windy godforsaken Candlestick Point so far from downtown). I attend about a half dozen games a year at the new park & thoroughly enjoy myself even if the Giants lose. I am so happy that it is not super homer-friendly like most of the new retro ballparks (while they are aesthetically pleasing, most are bandboxes that cheapen the home run and encourage ever-more-astronomical strikeout totals - I'm not homer nuts like seemingly the majority of modern fans). The park is walkable from a couple downtown hotels I stay in when in SF. While the ballpark food is overpriced, that's the norm in most parks, and as a garlic freak I always have to have my dose of the Gilroy garlic fries. And as an aging boomer, I love the statues of Mays, McCovey & Marichal, the baseball heroes of my youth, plus the abundance of historical info plaques around the park and out to McCovey point. Now I just wish the Giants could put together a winner, lol.
Best ball park in the bigs. Saw the Giants take down the Cardinals last night. Great food. Not a bad seat in the house. And it's now steroid free.
Exactly what I would expect from a city like San Francisco. It's clean, efficient, kid-friendly, and has lots of "upscale" options for seating and boxes. Still, it's a fun stadium to go to, even if the fans I feel aren't as great as fans in other cities.
