AMAZING! The ambiance: terrific and classic. The service: wonderful, on top of it.The food: delightful. Overall: in my opinion the best place to dine in the area. The steak we ordered was extremely delicious and well worth the money. Our appetizers were the perfect size. We didn't have dessert, but the list looked very tempting! The prices were a bit high, but at a restaurant such as this, the prices SHOULD be high, with all that quality.
Great food, great atmosphere: My wife and I dined here and can't say a bad thing. The lamb and steak were fantastic, as were the pre-dinner martinis. Definitely check this place out on your next trip to San Francisco.
one of the best: a true san francisco restaurant situated on nob hill and named for the big four railroad magantes. the bar is as classic as they come and mixes great drinks. the dining room is also quite nice and the service is quite good. the food is what you really come for though, and it is on target. of special note is the wild game week in november where the menu transforms into the exotic, with everything having its own flavor, and all of it good. it is definitely not a cheap dinner, but well worth every penny.
