User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsTook some friends for some sake and sushi. We sat at the sushi counter in front of a chef who was busy talking to the waitress and hardly noticed us - think his name was Leo. We looked the menu over and finally decided what we wanted. We were finally able to flag down our waitress as she was busy talking with Leo. We ordered nigori sake (which was great), some sashimi (seemed soggy), some nigiri (good) and a couple of yoko rolls (also good). We would have liked to have been able to order another round of drinks but couldn't find our waitress. So we decided to just get the bill...another hassle trying to get our waitress as she was back talking again. Conclusion: the drinks/food is great but the service/attentiveness towards customers definitely needs improvement.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGreat sushi, beautiful people: Used to live right around the corner and have probably eaten at Sushi Groove 20 times. Great sushi in a small and very lively setting. Always full of beautiful people and you may have to wait on busy nights. Grandeho's down the hill on Hyde is also great -- slightly better sushi imo but less of a scene.

Fantastic Sushi in Russian Hill: For great, fresh fish don't miss Sushi Groove on Hyde. Parking is a challenge but well worth it! It's a fun atmosphere and the sushi is the BEST in SF! There's also a great one SOMA.
