I agree with the other Yelpers and give this restaurant a 2, mainly because of the surly service. It would have been a 4 otherwise.

It started with my sister and I walking in mid-afternoon, where there was only 1 other table with people, so we opted to sit at a 4 seater table. And why the heck not, the rest of the restaurant was empty anyway. Besides, we were totally excited about the aspect of sampling a brand new New Orleans-type-ish restaurant, that we were planning to order A LOT, and their measly 2 seater table was only big enough to handle 2 plates and drinks comfortably.

Well, our bee-hinds were 1" away from the seat when the Manager/Owner (maybe? - she seemed more senior and bi---y at least) barked at us to "Sit on the other side of the restaurant, at a 2 seater table instead; they're saving that table!"

Okey dokey, strike one! Couldn't she have said it nicely at least? Saving the table for what? The stampede of people who are about to walk in? Choose from the entire rest of the restaurant why dontcha?

Anyway, we ended up ordering 2 oyster po-boys, and a salade nicoise and drinks (like we said, this is about all that could fit comfortably-ish on the table. Their loss, right?

The food was good, yes, I'll hand them that. But if you couple this with surly / RUDE service. Like the waitstaff just chatting to each other LOUDLY CACKLING away, and food coming in warp speed, the sandwiches waaay before the salad (WTF?), well, you can see the picture I'm painting here.

We came clear from Parkside to this place. Had to take the freeway, fear for our lives getting shot in 3rd Street. The food isn't all that anymore after the way we were treated.

With all the fantastic restaurants in San Francisco, these people have to learn that they're not God's gift to all foodies. SOUP NAZI days are over, the price was TOO EXPENSIVE for the neighborhood (they aren't on Sacramento Street after all) get a better attitude or get ready to close your doors!

Best breakfast fare in the city! The biscuits and corn bread are too good for words.

Great food and service - get there early!: Great "off the beaten path", local restaurant. Get there early because seating is very limited. I got there right when it opened and there was a line at the door. The locals know all about this hidden jewel, some tourists have found it as well.

Both the chili scramble and the beignets were awesome. Come hungry because the portions are generous.

Service was fast. Got in and out in less than an hour.

Also a plus - the restaurant is very accessible from downtown by taking the MUNI. The T line stops nearby. The restaurant is on 22nd street, and you can get off the T line at 20th or 23rd.
