| About: | The only thing this place has to recommend itself for is its delicious food at rock-bottom prices. The lighting is bad, the decor is bargain-basement, but the burritos are huge and the filling is a delicious, slow-cooked carne asada, tender chicken, spicy pork, or veggies and guacamole. You will also find tacos, enchiladas and tostadas. It is a popular place with locals and people looking for a quick meal, especially late at night when most other spots have closed down. The service is quick and efficient. Only cash is accepted. |

These burritos are AWESOME. Seriously. You must, must, must try it!
i went to one of the many chains this place has El Faro, ???, too many to know which exactly it was....
[[[i swear Farolito is fast food Starbucks]]]
thats not a compliment either....
i had the Carne Asada Torta, my usual order anywhere i go, there where bread choices! i aint saying choices arent good, but come on, some initiative pls! bread choices? really? i am Mexican, not used to having choices i guess, i take what i get, i order a torta carne asada refritos y everything, simple, yu'd think, i expect to watch them grill the carne, spread sour cream on the bread, ususally a bolillo[w.o specifying] added on all the salad refried beans etc salsa but not AT fAROLITO, OH GR8 GIANT BURRITO CHAIN....its cold snobby they make yu pick bread [[really, sliced?]] give yu a whole lettuce piece, small scoop of watery whole beans after asking4 refried add more watery tomatoes and what looks like greyish guac' sitting too long or is it too much pre-made? warm up pre-measured meat portions in a Microwave [[!!aah!!]] wrap it up, slice in half, to give yu the ILLUSION its bigger than it really is and cold!????![[DO I SPECIFY HOT???]] -- AND they are MORE EXPENSIVE THAN TWO BLOCKS AWAY! even down the street; where BTW for less price yu get twice the size fresh sliced?julienned lettuce ? and HOT NO SPECIFICATIONs required MAYBE CHOOSE FRENCH ROLL OR BOLILLO dutch crnch and salsa, whatever but good. actualy the best in the city.
yeh i wanted to like it, but El Farolito was really cookie cutter catering to the young white kids wallets after the bar in the newly gentrified Mission crowd, which isnt really good food, its ok at best. but for the same price my money goes where i go ----- elsewhere -----
this place is good. Must be considering how long its been here. I like the food but i prefer the one down 24th street. The best salsa in town. Both very affordable and good food but better salsa down the street.
