About:The red leather covering in the booths and on the chrome-stemmed stools at the counter let you know that this Castro Street institution is proudly 50s retro. The food is classic 50s diner fare with hamburgers cooked to order and fries that are tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The milk shakes are almost too thick to get through the straw. Other sweet treats are from some of the finest bakeries in the Bay Area. The prices are sweet, too. Located on the corner of Castro, this is a great place to people watch, too.

Whenever I am in San Francisco, I always make sure to stop by this little diner. The breakfast is killer and I love their Home Fries, Biscuits N Gravy, and Chicken Fried Steak. The place is quite small and there is always a crowd waiting outside, and is very much a gay business. Usually in the morning there is an older Bear and a really cute Australian guy who is great eye candy. They are nice guys and give good service. There is also a great jukebox with music from the 50's to recent hits and you can hear anything from Marvin Gaye to Donna Summer to the latest Madonna record.

This restaurant is one of the cleanest (Awarded w/high standards by Board of Health) and they have the most friendliest waiters in the business. Their 24 hour breakfast menu, milkshakes and juicy burgers are one of the best in the city. Small but quaint, very comfortable tufted booths and cushioned counter seats. A feel of the 60's decor and ambiance. No pretentiousness, no attitude, non-rush atmosphere. A great place to relax and enjoy a great americana meal.

A place I go to when I visit San Francisco. Not one of those places that you expect to find. Not fancy, but the place is clean, the people working the counter are friendly and the food is great. Thought I was going to pass out trying suck their milk shake through a straw. The thing is big enough for two people and the food is good, simple, and honest, and have pretty much something for everyone.. I travel from one side of SF to just go there at least once, and compared to some burger places in SF (Fog City Dinner and Clown Burger) the prices are pretty reasonable.
