| About: | At Cha Cha Cha do not be discouraged when the host announces it will be an hour for a table. It is worth the wait. Besides, after one pitcher of intense sangria, you will not even feel the time passing. Authentic Santeria altars and strange artifacts adorn the walls. World music transports you to a foreign land. The Calamari with Garlic Aioli, Spicy Roasted Potatoes, and Grilled Plantains are highly recommended. There is another location at 2327 Mission St. |

I heard so many good things about this place, so I decided to try the one down on Haight street with my girlfriend. Host was a pretty cool guy. Wait was pretty long for a Tuesday (I would hate to see it on a Saturday night). Long story short, Cha Cha Cha is a place for rich white yuppies to go have dinner and be seen whilst drinking sangrÃa. This is fine and all, except that I'm a 25 year old graphic designer. I'm white and I make great money, however I'm not old enough and don't look like one of those super rich "earth conscious" types that shops at whole foods. Needless to say my girlfriend and I were completely ignored the whole night by the waiter. 3 visits: one to take the order, one for our order, and one for the check. The guy must of thought I was going to stiff him, but I's bet a hefty penny I make more than him after taxes. I hate to be like that, it's just that my money is as green as the next guy's. So what difference does it make. Food wasn't bad. But the service kinda killed it.
decent food... but highly over-rated; sangria's are good too; service is moderate; waiting for a table can be comparted to waiting in line for a new rollercoaster ride-- it takes forever.
I was in there last Tuesday with a couple of friends and I swear I will never go back, to the one on Haight Street anyhow. My friends and I sat at the bar, had dinner and sangria, and this one bartender who I always seem to see when I am there was giving such us a massive attitude. When we went to pay we asked if we could split the bill three ways (I work in the industry and understand that this can be a pain and it can suck) however she immediately said "we don't do that." I promptly responded and said, "You mean you don't want to do it." Long story short we ended paying with one card but seriously, need the girl be so rude? No, she doesn't and if she knew anything about the industry she would know that no matter what, you never talk back to a customer. Ever. The food is good and that is why I will only be returning to the Cha Cha Cha on Misson.
