| About: | This popular Indian restaurant is always packed and loud. The North Indian cuisine will be familiar to anyone who has had Indian cuisine before, but the spicing and preparation really make the food here stand out. Try the Bombay pakora which is batter-fried calamari to start with. Creamy murg masala is a delightful chicken entree. Several of the vegetarian dishes here like the simple, satisfying sabji, are not often found in Indian restaurants in America, even though they're basic home cooking in Punjab. Try the elaborate breads such as naan stuffed with goat cheese, green onions and peppers or spinach paratha. |

always happy and never disappointed everytime i go to the indian oven. seating is a major problem if you go there between 7-8:30pm without a reservation. the food is great although they have toned down the spices a bit for people who cannot handle the heat too much. the tap is reasonable, not cheap but reasonable. over all, great restaurant and great food.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city but it can be a bit pricey at times. The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than most Indian restaurants in the area, so if you are looking for a fun place to take a date then try Indian Oven. My only complaints are that it usually has a long wait and don't try to park in that area as its almost impossible to find a parking spot- but neither of these "cons" are the restaurant's fault.
An Indian restaurant I'll actually go to: Being Indian, I've been spoiled with homemade food for much of my life. That means that I'm not prone to eating at Indian restaurants very often, unless they're really great values for decent food (Pakwan, Shalimar..). Most of the "nicer" Indian restaurants tend to be subpar at best, but Indian Oven stands out. Fresh meat dishes, a good variety of vegetarian dishes and of course, their signature Naan ensure that I recommend this place to my friends when they ask for "a good Indian restaurant". I'm a big fan :)
