User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis place is awful. Every time I've come here, I have been the only one in the whole restaurant. I wonder why...
Anyway, the staff here are slightly rude and speak almost no English. I've been here 6-7 times because of its proximity to my work, and 3 times I've had to send my order back because they gave me the wrong food. I don't mean they gave me chicken instead of pork, I mean huge mistakes like soup instead of noodles, or appetizers I didn't order. Make sure you check your order!
As for the food, well, it's not good. Very not good. I can't say I've enjoyed anything I've ever eaten here. Yes, you can get it spicy, but all the chili peppers in the world can't cover up tough, overcooked chicken, cold, rubbery beef, and vegetables that have been sitting around for days. The rice is also bad; either undercooked and crunchy, which is horrible, or cold and mashed together, which is just as bad.
The restaurant itself is also very dirty. They may have gotten an A from the health department, but the bathroom smells horrible, and you can smell it from 20 feet away. Inside... don't go inside until after you eat if you are determined to eat here.
As for atmosphere, you can definitely tell they are focused on getting customers fed as quickly as possible to make as much money as possible. Drinks ordered before the food come halfway through the meal, the (cold!) tea arrives first and refills just don't happen, and the waiters impatiently hurry you up. "What you want? You want ________? How about ________? You need help?"
I don't know why this place is still in business. Prices are above average, food quality is embarassing, sanitation is suspect, and the service is terrible. I know they are in the middle of the city, but come on people, stop supporting bad food.
Henry's Hunan is a sit down Mr. Chau's with a dirty bathroom and worse service.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWorst Chinese in SF: Probably the worst Chinese food in SF - look around, do you see any Chinese people eating there? The only reason it's in business is b/c it's located in a part of town where they are few dining options. I've had steam table buffet Chinese that is way better than the food at this place.
