| About: | While the decor at this popular Peruvian restaurant Mi Lindo Peru is in no way stunning, the food is certainly something to talk about. Many claim it's the best they've come across in San Francisco, others claim it's the best they've ever come across for such affordable prices. Either way you win. The Japanese chef ensures that the Japanese feel to Peruvian cuisine is even more pronounced. While there are mixed reviews on the entrees, you can't go wrong with the tapas. Get a variety of things to try and see what Peru really has to offer. |

While the place just reminds me of the peruvian atmosphere in the provinces of Peru, the food is all the main course to be there.
That is how the peruvian atmosphere is, low an humble, but the food is all and says it all. I will remember this birthday fro ever. Went with my family to celebrate and have a "ceviche de mariscos" that was a superb japanese peruvian fusion. Accompany this with the 3 orders of choros a la criolla and you have to have a cusquenia beer to complement the exsuberant taste.
Tasty, hearty Peruvian food with generous portions: This is a real neighborhood gem. Good food, good service, and very reasonable prices. The ambience is not 'first date' quality, but is nothing to thumb your nose at either. Even the music is fairly good, and not too loud. The 'Lomo Saltado' is my favorite and well worth a try. Their lunch menu is limited but has all the crowd favorites for much less than the dinner price, so if you just want to sample the food, try lunch. Also, the sauce is really spicy, so be warned.
Great Peruvian in the city! Strong sangria to boot: We tried this place for the first time last night (we went to the one in the Marina, but they have another restaurant in the Mission), and we will definitely be coming back. We tried both the tapas and a main course, and all were fantastic. Like most Peruvian restaurants, expect a lot of meat and starch. The portions were generous, and the food was very tasty!
Service was great -- couldn't ask for more. The place looks like it used to be a Japanese restaurant, so I can't say too much about the atmosphere. It was fine, but the food stole the show. We ordered a liter of sangria between the 2 of us, and drank ourselves silly.
Highly recommended! We'll be trying the branch in the Mission next!
