About:Hidden away from the slow moving throngs of Wharf tourists, this is a great place to relax and catch an early drink on the sunlit patio. During the daytime, the place fills up with yuppies looking for a burger or a steak that is a cut above standard cafe fare. At night, the unassuming cafe atmosphere becomes one of the City's top venues for live jazz, soul, reggae, and especially salsa. To get the best of both sides, watch for its Sunday afternoon musical events.

    The servers, bartenders, managers, and owner each need a lesson or 10 in customer service and satisfaction. The food was so so, the cleaniness was so so. Worst of all was the fact that this establishment takes advantage of people, especially tourist. I strongly encourage you to find another place to eat than Pier 23 Cafe if you are in San Francisco!!!! I will never go back and I hope that you will take my advice!!!!

    A fun place to hang out on a Sunny Sunday: The food and drinks are great. There is live entertainment and a good crowd of people. Recommended for mature adults only
