About:Bender's is a Mission District legend. Firebombed into oblivion in 2006, its valiant founders rallied the troops, and with a cavalcade of community support, reopened just a year and half laterbigger and better than ever. Some choice burnt-to-a-crisp fire wreckage are kept around as trophies of the place's victory over tragedy, you will love watching it. Comfy booths surround the pool table and the grill, which is operated by the folks at Weird Fish . The beer selection is great, the booze selection is fab, and as the straight-shootin' staff'll tell ya, wine is "red" or "white".

    one of my fav dive bars. friendly staff, great bear selection, food...it is a hidden gem off the major crawl of mission pubs :)

    Love Benders!: Benders is a great dive bar - Johnny the bar tender is awesome and their steak sandwhich is mmm mmm good.

    Divetacular: Is it possible that there are 3 bars within striking distance of my house where I can get PBR and High Life? Yes. Yes it is.

    Bender's is a dive bar of considerable popularity in the 'hood, and for good reason. It has personality. Partisons here come to drink, and drink with some relish. They dress oddly. They have tattoos. They are pierced. They are cool, and generally friendly. They bring dogs. I like them, and they tolerate my being old and uncool. It works out for everyone.

    Bender's also has free BBQ on Sunday 3 - 7. I haven't gone yet, but it's intriguing, no?
