AWFUL MANAGEMENT POLICY
A group of coworkers are having a change of job farewell party for two members at work at the WATERFRONT RESTAURANT. We made a reservation for 22 people and only 15 people came to the restaurant. We are willing to pay some money (example $10) for the no show. The restaurant charge us the full price $65 ($50 for meal+tax and 20%service charge) TOTAL $445 for the no show of 7 people. We are willing to pay for the whole extra $445 but we ask for the food to take home since we are paying for it. The waiter told us that it is the restaurant's policy to charge full price for the no show but no food are allowed to take home. When we asked to speak to the manager, he give us a phone number to call on Monday(we are there on Sat) with the same line -no food is allowed to take home, but pay $445 for nothing. $445 is no small amount of money to pay for nothing. When we refuse to pay the whole amount of $445 but pay extra $90 for nothing and ready to walk out, the waiter came and tell us that they are preparing the food and wanted us to pay the whole amount.
We paid it but for $445 we get the entree and salad(4 pieces of romaine salad leaves with some cheese). We have to ask for the appetizer and dessert since we are paying full price and service fees( with no service).
I know it is our group fault for the extra reservations but with any big group functions there are bound to be no shows. If the restaurant expects the customer to pay full price for the no show, at least give the customer box food to take home. (you can box entree that you cannot finish). We should not have to beg for food we pay for it.
We pick Waterfront Restaurant for the atmosphere and location for the celebration but the management made it into a mess for their policy and non co-operation.
I will not RECOMMEND this restaurant.

Good Food - Overpriced (As Expected): Very good food. Overpriced, as you would expect for any restaurant with an SF waterfront location. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner once. Huge portions (too much ) of good food.
