Slow service puts a damper on meal
The food was excellent. The price makes the food a great value. The atmosphere is pleasant. However, 60 minutes between the appitizer and the entree is too long. I do not want to be rushed when I go to a restauant, but this was 30 minutes beyond that. I finally had to ask the waiter what was going on. I may go back, but I sure hope someone at the management level of this otherwise fine establishment does something to remedy this.
We had a great dining experience at this restaurant with excellent service and superb food. If you have room for dessert, you have to try the french toast with hazelnut ice cream. Its delectable! The Chef even came over to greet us. I plan to take my family and friends there but next time i will definitely make reservations because the tables fill up quickly.
Service and Food not worth the Cost: We made reservations for 6 people, but when we arrived our table was not ready. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our table, without an apology from the restaurant; we were told the table was not ready. We were asked if we wanted water when we were seated; we said yes. 10 minutes later, still no water. Another wait person asked if wanted water and we said we already requested it. When the wait person came to take our order we had to ask for water again. Water finally came after we ordered.
3 of us ordered the âsea bassâ, but we are not sure if that was what we received. The fish was very meaty and not buttery like what you would expect from sea bass. The lobster sauce that accompanied the sea bass made up for the dish. The escargot was very good though. We had to ask 3 times before we got our ketchup to accompany our fries (pomme frites).
The dessert was good, but the bittersweet chocolate cake was about the size of a 2 bite brownie; not big enough to share. When we ordered it with 6 spoons, the wait person did not say anything about the size of the serving. When we received the 6 spoons and 6 dessert plates, we were expecting something shareable; when it came out I just looked at it with surprise. The coconut ice cream that came with the cake was good, but it overpowered the chocolate of the cake. When I asked for low fat milk for my after dinner coffee, they said that they only had whole milk.
Overall, we would not return.
