About:Baker Street Bistro, this neighborhood eatery is small but welcoming, strictly serving affordable French cuisine. Located in the Presidio Heights district, it has been recognized as one of the city's Top 100 restaurants by the San Francisco Chronicle . This is no small feat considering the competition. The atmosphere is that of a typical bistro, simple, clean and comfortable. Outdoor seating is limited but available. Dinner entrees include Sonoma Rabbit in a light Dijon sauce served with pasta and fresh vegetables and a Ragout of Lamb served with Duchesse potatoes. The wine list is adequate with a nice selection of Californian and French champagne, white, red, and sparkling wines (prices vary). You will find that everything is wonderful, from the Escargots Forrestiere to the Creme Brulee.

This place is a great find. We have been coming here for 6 years now and have always been very content with the food and service. It's neighborhood bistro appeal keeps us coming for more. It's very quaint, small and most importantly family owned. All of their entrees are very inexpensive averaging under $15. My favorite has to be the grilled NY steak with parsley-lemon butter, potatoes, and fresh locally grown vegetables.

Great, affordable French food in a casual setting: Love this neighborhood place on the weekends, sitting at their outdoor tables for a nice brunch, tucked away off the busy Lombard thoroughfare. Dinners are delicious too, as are the desserts. Great place to meet up with friends and then head out for a walk in the Presidio or on Crissy Field afterwards.

Poor Seating Policy: We arrived on Saturday night at 7:25pm without a reservation (our bad).
Hostess informed us there will be an open table inside in 10-15 mins, so we waited outside in the cold. There are 4 open tables inside but were reserved.

8:10pm: she came and informed us they simply cannot give us any of the still open tables because they are reserved. So we have waited for over 40 minutes and no table. They were very polite, however, inflexible. Needless to say we left for another restaurant.
