Crowds of college students, professors and upscale professional types make getting a table at this cozy corner restaurant problematical on Friday and Saturday nightsbut the wait is worth it. The fare at Osteria is not fussy and beautifully prepared to meet Italian standards. Only the freshest ingredients are used for the house-made Minestrone, Eggplant Parmesan and delicious pasta dishes served here with exuberant good cheer by the efficient staff. Do not miss the desserts, especially the decadently rich Tiramisu. The wine list is limited, but includes some nice California and Italian vintages.
I've never been here for dinner but several times for lunch. What a treat this place is. The salads are large and delicious, and the pasta is just out of this world. I had one with sausage and asparagus and just fell in love. If you like authentic italian food this is the place on the peninsula.
This is a very good Italian restaurant. Been going to Osteria for my mom's birthday for many years now. The food is always good, and the service excellent. My only complaint is that the tables are packed in pretty tight so it often feels like there's someone at your elbow.
