About:In the land of California-fusion cuisine, this decidedly Southern-like restaurant has created a strong and surprising niche for itself. Both the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News have lavished it with high praise. Patterned after a Southern estate, it offers diners the choice of eating beside a cozy fireplace or on a romantic patio setting. The menu keeps with the architectural theme, offering Cajun-influenced dishes, such as the Jerk Rubbed Halibut and the Bayou Pasta (fettuccine with a spicy cream sauce).

I’m not sure how to rate / describe my experiences at the Blue Chalk. I’ve been there for a Mardi Gras celebration (which was out of this world) and for a quiet evening of cocktails and billiards. I’ve never had lunch or dinner there, but the Mardi Gras celebration did have many New Orleans staples, including an awesome crawfish boil. The billiards tables have been abused over the years, so it wouldn’t be my first choice to settle a billiards bet or setup a billiards hustling operation (or maybe it would!). Go for the casual atmosphere and great bar staff. It’s the Big Easy year round.

Great: They need to decide what they want to be but they are good at both

A little bit of everything: This place is awesome. You can just chill with friends and shoot some pool, or go crazy on the weekends with the dj. my favorite spot.
