Janta is the BEST Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The food is great! The ownners, Baldev and Germit are wonderful host; yu're welcomed at the door, seated and made to feel like you belong there; their teas are soothing and relaxing, my favorite dish is their curry chicken served with rice and vegetables, and don't forget their wonderful pita bread. yum! It's just like home but you don't have to do the cooking. Most impressive is how the whole family take great pride in the service they provide to their customers. The premises are kept very clean and that should say a lot about a place where food is prepared. I love this place- I totally recommend it.
Food is extremely flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The waiters are always dedicated and friendly. For the individual who said the children are waiters, that is false. I have been to Janta so many times and the kids helped pour water. When they seldom visit they choose to help out because I have seen them ask their father, the boss. Most of the time, the waiters are grown adults. anyway, the Chai is not just a tea bag that you would get at standard Indian restaurants such as Darbar. The Chai tea is mixed with cardimmon and milk-perfect for after the meal :) I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala! Great job in remodeling as well. Enjoy!!
Delivers!! $35 minimum with no delivery charge. As far as I'm aware, they're the only Indian restaurant in the Palo Alto/MP/MV area that delivers. Others (like DarBar) say that they "deliver," but this is only for big parties--usually 10 or more. The food hasn't actually arrived yet, but I'm so excited that it's being brought to me that even if it's sub-par, I'll be excited.
