| About: | This is one of the charming (there really is no other word for it), small, family-run bakeries that dot North Beach. Each has a delicious repertoire of specialties. Here it is 'Sacripantina', a cake filled with Zabaglione and soaked in Marsala wine. It is a luscious mix of sponge cake covered in perfectly made rich, sweet cream. You can buy this authentic Italian treat by the cup (it is too gooey to make a slice that holds its shape) or by the cake in several sizes. Prices vary, but the quality does not. Stella Pastry & Cafe is open on Thursdays from 7.30 am and on Sundays from 8.30 am. |

Stellllaaaa!!! This brought my wife back to here stomping ground days in Queens NY. Freshest Cannoli I have had. Filled the tube before my eyes. Fail to treat yourself to a latte and sweet at this place and you will have failed to sample some of the best SF has to offer.
I've never been crazy about their cookies, but their cakes are FABULOUS!!!
You must try their Sacripantina. I can't even tell you what's in it, but it's like crack and sweets, all in one.
everything i've tried here has been amazing!!! buonissimo!
