We originally had reserved a tee-time for two players; however on the day of the game, another friend decided to join us. We called in early on in the morning of the game day to ask and see if it is possible to add one more person.
The person over the phone indicated this is not a problem. We came in 1/2 hour before the game, to check in. The person behind the counter had no idea of the additional person and as we were paired we another two persons, he had to pushed our reservation back by 20 min in order to play with 3 people.
When came back in to start the game at the later tee-time, the person behind the counter was gone, and the new person indicated that we were paired with another two people, and therefore the 3rd person could not play. He said he has to further push back our game in order to have the 3rd person play. When we explain the situation and told him the last person pushed us out due to the miscommunication , he said he can't do anything.
Due to all these push backs, we were not able to finish the game. The original tee-time was at 4:03 pm, and originally we checked in at 3:30 PM. However we did not tee off until 4:45PM. This is very disappointing as we:
1- We did not finish the game due to darkness
2- We had to go through hassle and challenges from the staff that would not be accommodating.
3- By the time we got to get our included 2 beverages, due to these delays, the shop was closed
4- More importantly, I brought two new customers that had never been to this golf course in order to get a weekly game going; but this put a really bad taste in all of our mouths.
This is very unfortunate that the staff with their incompetencies, have to ruin this course for all of us. They need to bring up the level of service by a large amount before I even consider going back there again.
My wife & I really enjoyed PGC. We played in early October 08 and the course was impeccable from tee to green. Surprisingly, the greens were slick; however, the elements got the better of my game that day (windy & sunny). Overall, the course was fun, challenging and affordable.
I joined their club about a year ago to try out their membership. The course itself is fairly nice and that is the only good thing I can say. The management staff is unprofessional and underhanded. They change their policies from day to day. On top of that, their food in the dining room is some of the worst I have ever experienced at a golf course. The food in the public area is better and the so are the cocktails. If you use the golf coupons, the price for the course is acceptable but I would never recommend joining. Harding is way less money if you are a San Francisco resident and the course is about5 times better.

Thank you for posting. I've had a very similar experience this year. The professionalism of the staff is something that needs lots of improving. The course itself is OK, but it is not worth the price (including for us SF residence) and I agree that by just driving a few extra minutes you can get much better course, service and bang for your buck. There are lots of great coursed in the Bay Area.
